Black and white dream

Oh, I love this house! It is a summer house but I could imagine living in it all year around! I love the built in concrete benches on the veranda, the big windows, the black and white interior, the wood storage outside...everything is nice in this house ! I am so going to add it to my image board for our future house!

Ikea bedroom campaign

Ikea's campaign's are always very attractive and fun! This time they have continued the same path and made a special bedroom campaign. It includes three different themes, one light and summery, one more industrial and, the one I prefer, one modern countryside style. Go and check it out on there campaign site HERE.

Light summerhouse

Today it is the 14th of July which means holiday here in France. Today is also the first day in a very long time that it is raining like crazy! I don't know what this means but it sure refreshens the air. This is a perfect moment to dream away and show you this summer house! Unfortunately I don't remember where I found these photos but I wanted to show it to you because I think there is some inspiration to take from it!

Summer inspiration

When it is summer and sunny, light and colorful furniture are very attractive. We want to absorb the light as much as we can and our interior is as important as the exterior.
These inspiration photos by stylist Tina Hellberg and photo by Per Ranung, illustrates what is going on in my head right now!

Two interesting homes

I found these two homes on MARIE CLAIRE MAISON'S website. They are both very interesting yet very different one from another. I like the vintage style in the first one that gives it a certain authenticity and the dark surfaces in the other home that makes a quite dramatic interior.

Double G

I wrote a post about ANNE GEISTDOERFER'S Parisian loft yesterday. Anne is working for an architect agency called DOUBLE G and after having taken a look at their projects I just have to show you some of their work! You can easily see their style through the different projects, it is modern, minimalist and full of happyness. This is quite unusual for a French company. Normally they are more traditional and they only use certain colors such as beige and grey. I am very happy to have discovered Double G and hope that there are plenty more of this kind out there in this country.

A spacious loft in Paris

I love this loft in Paris! It is designed and conceived by architect ANNE GEISTDOERFER, who also lives in this appartment with her husband and their two children. It is a place filled with light and fantasy. Just look at the pink sink in the kitchen. I love it! Thanks to the 4 meter high ceiling, the loft feels very spacious and they have been able to create a mezzanine where the bedrooms are situated.

Personal wallpaper

Photos or graphics on walls are very much in style now and with MR PERSWALL you can make wallpaper from your own designs.
Right now there is a competition going on where you can send in your best vacation photos and the winner will have his photo printed and he also gets a really nice camera. If you are interested you can find more information HERE. They also have their own collection and I found a lot of nice things! I could imagine one of these on a wall somewhere in my house for example.

Dutch nature

I really like this home in Holland! It is Ina Meijer and Matthijs van Cruijsen, two interior designer's house. After having lived in Amsterdam for a long time, they decided to move to this old barn close to the Wadden sea. They have managed to keep the charm of the barn while making it very modern at the same time! The mix of natural materials and contemporary furniture works very well in a place like this!

Nika Zupanc

Oh, how I love when I find design that is made somewhere else than in Scandinavia or western Europe. Don't get me wrong, I love design from there, but it feels good to know that they don't have monopoly on nice things. NIKA ZUPANC is a very nice revelation! She is born in Slovenia and is now working as an independent designer for many different well known brands. And her designs are amazing! They make me think of a fairytale where the princess gets her prince, but with a twist of modernity. Me like a lot!

Martin Dyrløv

Here is some eye candy from Danish photographer MARTIN DYRLØV. I love the light in his photographs and the minimalist styling! Have a nice wednesday everyone!

Wood and ceramics in Brooklyn

Here is a home with character! It belongs to Lyndsay Caleo, who is a goldsmith and interior designer, and Fitzhugh Karol, who is a woodworker and interior designer. As you can see they are very much into wood and second hand things. That is what gives this house such warmth and a homy feeling. I love the dining table, it looks like they took some logs from the forest and put them in their living room. Lyndsay's favorite thing in the house is the kitchen sink that is situated in front of a window so that you can wash the dishes while looking out into the garden.
My favorite thing from what we can see of the house is definitely the mirror with the rounds and lines all around it!

Tia Borgsmidt

The sharp, contrasted colors are a trademark for photpgrapher TIA BORGSMIDT. I love the wall in the kitchen with the different patterns, they fit so well together and gives this plain and quite boring kitchen lots of character! And I love the different chairs around the dinner table, and the mezzanine in the bedroom...

A house that moved

I know, I have showed you a lot of summer houses lately but how can I resist when they all look so cosy and filled with history. This house definitely has a history! It was bought 900 km from where it is standing today. In other words, the owners took it apart and transported it to the new terrain. Quite impressive I have to say! On top of that this house is worth showing just for its charm! And I would love to have one of those kitchen sofas! Imagine mixing it with something very modern, it would give the house some soul. I am not sure that A will think the same though...

Modern get away on Gotland

If you know Gotland (an island on the east coast of Sweden), you know that this house is perfect there! The grey exterior melts into the environement and the light yet a bit rustic (look at the table in the kitchen for example) interior permits the exterior lighting to enter and the island feeling to stay!
I love it!

Dreams of pastel

When it is grey outside and the sky is playing with your mood, it feels good to look at photos like these and imagine that this is where you are right now! A light interior with lots of flowers always makes me happy! Pastel is summer, warmth, dreams and fairytales. Flowers make me think of meadows filled with dandylions or midsummer night when you go and pick seven flowers to dream about your prince...

Kobenhavs mobelsnedkeri

I showed you a photo yesterday of how I would like my kitchen and that kitchen was made by KOBENHAVN'S MOBELSNEDKERI. They make really nice kitchens and here are some more eye candy for you to enjoy!

Sommarnöjen

The architect firm SOMMARNÖJEN (summer pleasures) make modern, Scandinavian style summer houses. Who have never dreamt of a summer house next to the sea or the lake in the forest? I have for sure, and even more since I moved away from Sweden. Either I would like a really old house with plenty of charm and authentic style or a house like the ones Sommarnöjen make. Very minimalistic with plenty of windows to give you a panoramic view over the water.

Grey beauty

I love this clock designed by LINUS BERGLUND. It feels very minimalist but with a strong character. It is a design that would work perfectly for our house! The book binded external hard drive is not too bad either! Most hard drives are really ugly so this is a good solution to make your office space look a bit better.
Scandinavian useful design at its best!

Heavenly blue

Check out this appartment of a photographer and a stylist. It is situated in Stocholm. The couple wanted a Scandinavian style with light furniture. It feels just that yet not too cold. Maybe it is the art pieces that make the home feel more personal or the textiles and little details that are all around.
Found at SKÖNA HEM. Sorry I confused things... These images are from no other place than HUS & HEM.

Photos by the owner of the appartment, Jonas Ingerstedt.
